Treasured Skein Scarfette by Double the Stitches

For my seventh annual Local Yarn Store Day design, I'm continuing to celebrate something truly special: the relationship between knitters and the indie shops that inspire them.

Meet the Treasured Skein Scarfette — designed for that one perfect skein you couldn't leave behind.

This elongated, asymmetrical scarfette features bands of vine lace separated by simple stockinette, creating a knitting rhythm that's both engaging and wonderfully relaxing. Gentle increases shape the piece to a shallow center, then taper to narrow ends — giving it that effortlessly stylish, easy-to-wear drape.

It looks intricate. It knits up joyfully. And it lets your yarn be the star.

Much like walking into your favorite local yarn store, Treasured Skein is all about inspiration and possibility. local yarn shops are more than just a place to shop — they're where we learn, explore, and find our people. The owners pour their hearts into curating yarns and tools they know their community will love.

When you knit this scarfette with a skein from your local shop, you're doing something meaningful: you're bringing that carefully chosen yarn to life, and supporting a small business that makes our knitting world a little brighter. Every skein has a story. This pattern helps you tell it … and show off that beautiful yarn instead of keeping it in your stash.
